Winnicott) This residential conference offers an opportunity to consider the ways in which analytical psychology can make a creative response to the social, cultural and scientific developments of the early 21st century while maintaining its roots in the accumulated knowledge and experience of the analytic tradition.
Speakers will include Sue Austin, Stefano Carta, Massimo Giannoni, Christopher Hauke, Jean Knox, and Vittorio Linguardi. The opening address will be given, in Italian, by Umberto Galimberti. The Conference will take place in the picturesque and romantic setting of Lake Orta, one of the smaller and more attractive lakes of Northern Italy. Situated approximately 40 minutes from Milan Malpensa Airport, Lake Orta has inspired writers such as Balzac and Browning and, in 1882, was the setting for the inspirational meeting between Nietzsche and Lou Andreas-Salomé. Registration will begin at 14.00 on Thursday 15th May. Should participants require extra accommodation at either end of the Conference dates, they should advise the conference organiser, giving the exact dates of arrival and departure. Special room rates have been negotiated for the extra days and will apply. FEE The Conference fee includes accommodation for 3 nights (15th – 18th May 2008) at the Hotel San Rocco, admission to all lectures and discussions, tea/coffee and dinner on the 17th with breakfast from the 16th up to and including Sunday 18th May 2008. We have reserved a number of single and double/twin-bedded rooms at Hotel San Rocco where the conference will also take place. Availability is limited, so early booking is advised. Single: £525 pre-16th March 2008/£550 post-15th March 2008 (US$990/$1045) Double/Twin: £810 pre-16th March 2008; £860 post-15th March 2008 (US$1540/$1650) Extra night: £92/US$180 (single); £135/US$270 (double/twin) Non-residential participation and non-participating accompanying partner rates on request. CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Participants will receive a certificate of attendance which can be used for Continuing Professional Development purposes.
