À propos de la chimère transférentielle

Je propose de développer le concept de chimère transférentielle que j'ai créé après Michel de M'Uzan, pour rendre compte du fait qu'une importante part des processus archétypiques qui sous-tendent le transfert ne se déroule ni dans le psychisme de l'analyste, ni dans celui de l'analysant, mais entre les deux. Je commencerai par présenter quelques situations cliniques différentes pour illustrer l'origine de la question. Puis je proposerai une lecture de "psychologie du transfert" que j'articulerai avec des éléments de la mécanique quantique, pour formuler mon idée de la chimère transférentielle. Dans une dernière partie je discuterai mon hypothèse quant à l'origine de la constitution de cette chimère transférentielle, comme résultant de l'interaction entre les parts dé-intégrées du soi du patient et de l'analyste, impliquant que l'un des enjeux de l'analyse est la possibilité de la ré-intégration, pour le patient, mais aussi, et d'abord, pour l'analyste, de ces parts dé-intégrées d'eux-même.

Cette présentation sera illustrée par une présentation PowerPoint et durera 45 minutes. Elle se fera en français et sera traduite dans les langues officielles de l'IAAP. Son but est d'ouvrir des question et la discussion, non d'apporter des réponses.

About the transferential chimera

I propose to develop the idea of the transferential chimera I created after Michel de M'Uzan, to express the fact that an important part of the archetypal processes in the transference is neither in the psyche of the analyst, nor in the psyche of the patient, but between them.  I will first present some different clinical situations to illustrate the origin of the question. Then I will offer a lecture on the "psychology of the transference", and articulate this with elements from quantum theory, to express my idea of what  the transferential chimera is.  In a last part I will discuss my hypothesis about the constitution of this transferential chimera, as the result of the interaction between the de-integrated parts of the self of the patient and of the analyst, meaning that one of the aims of the analysis is the possibility of re-integration, for the patient, but also, and first, for the analyst, of these de-integrated parts of themselves.

This presentation will be illustrated by a PowerPoint presentation, and will last 45 minutes.  The talk will be in French, and there will be full translation into all of the IAAP languages. The aim of this presentation is to open questions and discussion, not to give answers.

• Born in Paris on July 26 in 1955 (for the fun I have the same birthday as CG Jung)
• Doctor of medicine & psychiatric in 1985
• Training in analysis in SFPA 1986-1998. Full member of SFPA and IAAP from 1998
• Also supervision with Didier Anzieu (French psychoanalyst member of IPA) during a part of my training
• Personal practice from 1986. Also psychiatric in an institution for psychotic and autistic children from 2005
• Member of the executive comity of the Groupe Rhône-Alpes d'Etude de la Psychanalyse d'Approche Jungienne from 1987. President in 1998-2001
• Editor of the "Cahiers Jungiens de Psychanalyse" from 2004
• Honorary prize of the National Society for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis of New York in 2003 for a paper published in the JAP (vol47, n°4) : "Nymphea : from psychic breakdown to the emergence of subjectivity"
• Michael Fordham Special Anniversary Prize 2005 for a clinical paper about the transferential chimera (to be published in the JAP in november 2006). This is the theme of my talk in Cap-Town, so those how want can read the paper (part I : a clinical approach) before the congress. A second paper, theoretical, will be published, probably after the congress.
