What: A Conversation: Why Jung? Why Now?

Join us in conversation to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Jung’s Fordham lectures. We will meet before and after the JPA/Fordham Conference to explore and generate our thoughts, feelings, and questions surrounding the emerging cultural and academic interest in Jung. Our conversations will be prompted by the themes and questions raised by the presentations at the Conference. We envision this as an opportunity to continue the quality of dialogue that CNASJA has been developing over the years.

When: Friday October 26, 2012, and Sunday Morning October 28th, 2012

(Delegates meeting on the 25th and Fordham Conference on the 27th)

CNASJA’s ‘Conversations’ will be held at the Empire Hotel located near the Lincoln Center. The JPA/Fordham Conference will be held at Fordham’s Rose Hill Campus.

(Transportation between venues will be provided by CNASJA)

Friday October 26th

9:00-9:10, Welcoming and overview of Conference and ‘Conversations’.
9:10-9:30, History of Jung’s Fordham lectures.
9:30-12:00, 5 minute introductions to discussion topics*, each introduction followed by 25 minutes of participant conversation.
(Coffee break, 10:30- 11:00).
12:00-1:00, Lunch on own.
1:00-2:00, 5 minute introductions to discussion topics*, each followed by 25 minutes of participant conversation.
2:00-3:00, Group reflections on topics and discussions.
4:00, Bus to Rose Hill Campus
Group dinner near Rose Hill Campus.
Opening Lecture Fordham Conference 7:00-8:30
Bus back to Hotel.
Evening on your own.

Saturday October 27th

All day Fordham Conference at Rose Hill Campus-breakfast and box lunch on campus. Bus service provided both ways. (See accompanying flyer for full JPA/Fordham Conference schedule)

Evening on your own or meet up with NY hosts for destinations TBA

Sunday October 28th

9:00-10:00, Small group break-outs- reflections on Fordham Conference and ‘Conversation’ experience.
10:00-10:30, Coffee break.
10:30-11:30, Break-out group reports and discussions.
11:30-12:00, What are we left with? What’s next?

*Discussion topics will be designed around the themes of the papers at the Fordham Conference. Depending on the number of participants we will either be in one large group for these conversations or smaller groups each following a different topic.
