C.G. Jung Society of Atlanta
November 16, 2011
Dear Jungian Community Members,
We are very excited to announce that the Atlanta Jung Society in collaboration with the Oglethorpe University Museum of Art is sponsoring an upcoming exhibit of original mandalas from the archives of the C. G. Jung Institute Zurich, in Kusnacht, Switzerland. This collection is comprised of mandalas created by five of Jung’s patients, three of whom were from the United States. While a few of these images have been exhibited before and some are reproduced in the Collected Works, none of them have ever been seen as a collection outside of the Jung Institute’s Kusnacht archive.
The exhibit will open at the Oglethorpe Museum of Art on Saturday February 4, 2012 and will run through May 6, 2012. Archive curator, Vicente de Moura, will present two lectures during the opening weekend: Saturday evening, “Images-Symbolism-Mandalas” (Oglethorpe Museum of Art membership required), and Sunday afternoon, “Mrs. X – Picture Journey of an Individuation.”
Early registration for the lectures will be necessary as seating is limited. Further details regarding registration, accommodations and other program information will be posted as it becomes available at www.jungatlanta.com and at http://museum.oglethorpe.edu. Information on Group Rates is available by calling Kathy Lumberg at 404-364-8552. For other questions, contact Cathy Shepherd at 770-434-3999
We hope you enjoy this very special event.
