In Tbilisi, where there are no places concerned with the psychological care of children, the Green House became quickly such a place, receiving more and more children with great difficulties, including many with infantile psychosis and autism. Since the war with Russia, there are also many children coming from delocalized, ruined families in great distress.
Dr François Martin-Vallas Le : 26 novembre 2010 Pressing Call for the Green House of TbilisiDear colleagues and friends, I just came back from Georgia where I go regularly to train Georgian colleagues to the practice of analysis, a training set up by the International Association for Analytical Psychology. Since 2006 three psychologists have created, in Tbilisi, a "Green House", a place of conviviality for children and parents invented by the french psychoanalyst Françoise Dolto : it is a welcoming place, with psychologists who are available for any conversation with parents and children, and the aim of which was initially the prevention of psychic difficulties. This place opened thanks to the availability of two french psychoanalysts of the "espace analytique" who supervise this project. In Tbilisi, where there are no places concerned with the psychological care of children, the Green House became quickly such a place, receiving more and more children with great difficulties, including many with infantile psychosis and autism. Since the war with Russia, there are also many children coming from delocalized, ruined families in great distress. This project has been built thanks to support from the Georgian fund "Global Initiative on Psychiatry", from the French embassy, and, overall, from a Georgian bank that gave money for rent and other "Green House" expenses. Since the crises, this fund closed, and it is a donation from the "Fondation de France", initially made for the salary of the psychologists, that allowed this project to continue. At the end of December 2010 this money will be depleted, and the rent can no longer be paid. This would mean the end of this project, the only one of its kind in Georgia. Some hundreds children and parents, who benefit from the resources of the Green House, would once more be left alone. The psychologists have agreed to work without a salary so that their project can go on, and they only have a small income from the psychotherapy they conduct with some children : less than $ 200 per month for each. The money needed for the continuation of this institution is a small amount : $ 6.500 per year will be enough. That is why, as we are close for Christmas, I call upon the generosity of all my acquaintances, so that, in this ruined country, the initiative for children in distress will not stop. It would be enough to meet the project's expenses if about a hundred persons each give the amount of the price of one of the gifts they plan to give at Christmas. With such gifts, this project and the "Green House" can remain a living, creative place for one more year. I hope that you will understand that this is a very urgent need, and that any donation, even the smallest, will help to rescue the Green House. Funds can be transferred to the bank account of the Green House :
With my best wishes, François Martin-Vallas
