Our name, Daimon, is taken from the "driving inner force" that guided and inspired the life of Socrates. More recently, Swiss psychiatrist C.G. Jung used the term daimon to describe a unique, independent spirit - neither good, nor evil - living in everyone.

Our new titles this year include the complete proceedings from the most recent Jungian World Congress: Barcelona: Edges of Experience, Memory and Emergence. Two ground-breaking new books by Jungian analysts about the guiding roles of dreams in groups are Threads, Knots, Tapestries by Tess Castleman of the U.S. and Learning from Dreams by Marion Gallbach of Brazil. New to our list is also Spirit in Jung by our popular author, theologian/analyst Ann Ulanov and we have recently produced a new edition of her classic work, The Female Ancestors of Christ. The highly successful Talking with Angels has just arrived in its 4th edition, and there are a number of exciting projects waiting in the wings.

The growing Daimon Folklore Library so far consists of 3 volumes: most recent is The North Wind and the Sun and Other Fables of Aesop, translated and edited by Series Editor Gregory McNamee. We continue to offer the extensive biography of C.G. Jung by Deirdre Bair to our European readers.

Our house is proud to be closely collaborating with Living Human Heritage Publications in Zurich, and helping their books to find readers throughout the world. The first volumes, Knowledge for the Afterlife: The Egyptian Amduat - A Quest for Immortality (Theodor Abt and Erik Hornung); The Egyptian Amduat – The Book of the Hidden Chamber (Translated by David Warburton); Corpus Alchemicum Arabicum, (edited by Theodor Abt and Wilferd Madelung); The Great Vision of Muhammed ibn Umail (Theodor Abt) and Introduction to Picture Interpretation according to C.G. Jung (Theodor Abt) are all available, and numerous others in preparation.

There is a rich selection of further titles, new and old, from our publishing friends in the U.S., for whom we act as European distributor: Chiron, Spring, Spring Journal and Parabola, as well as other Jungian journals.
