The symbol that inspired us is “the bridge,” and we have chosen “the solid container” as the central concept for the conference.
We live in times rich with theoretical and conceptual advancements, yet these have not shielded us from being emotionally disturbed and injured in our therapeutic encounters with the wounded psyches of ourselves and our patients, especially when we face destructive forces, shadow aspects, and the recurrence of trauma. But we must also recognize and trust the psycheʼs
ressources and capacity for self-healing.
In our therapeutic work, we must become a “solid container”, managing to tolerate and contain the uncontainable, and helping our patients “build more bridges” in their inner worlds.
We will explore all these important aspects related to our work together during the conference.
Invitation for Case Study Presenters:
Colleagues who wish to share their experiences are encouraged to present clinical papers or aspects from their practice related to difficulties of containment and resources or symbols that helped them.
