Development of reconceptualizations of archetype theory. A research project by Christian Roesler, conducted for the IAAP.

We are pleased to announce that Christian Roesler has finalised his research project on the archetype theory. It will be published by Routledge, but probably not before next year. You can read the comprehensive report by clicking on this link (Link to report). You may also watch this video presentation of the main results of the project which Christian Roesler gave for the Greek developing group, and they have agreed that it is accessible for all members of the IAAP, here is the link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bucl3yp2ta6yn28/video1380244787.mp4?dl=0.

Christian Roesler’s book on Jung’s archetype concept, originally published in German in 2016, has just been published by Routledge in an English translation (see the link below). The book provides a comprehensive account of classic archetype theory as presented by Jung and the development of the concept in analytical psychology up to the present day, including research. It focuses on a description of classic archetypes and how this approach is applied in the fields of psychotherapy as well as cultural studies (with a number of case examples and exemplary studies). There is also an overview of attempts to reformulate the concept, namely the emergentist approach, but the focus is on describing the concept and its applications.
