The world’s upheavals initiate new modes of existence, shaking societies to their foundations and questioning the individual in his or her search for meaning.
The echoes of this collective world resound in the analytical crucible. They polarize the psyche, contaminating the individual, but also opening up new spaces for symbolization.
New frameworks are emerging for analysts and patients. What are our experiences as analysts? What are the energetic tensions we need to address?
In these interfaces between inner and outer worlds, the imaginary world of Hieronymus Bosch, people with dragons and athanors, will inspire our reflections. A meditative contemplation of one of his paintings, on display at a nearby museum, will provide a sensitive and symbolic basis for our questioning.
