Dear colleagues, dear students, and dear staff members,
It is my sad duty to inform you that our esteemed colleague and dear friend, Ruth
Ammann passed away on August 3 at the age of 89.
Ruth contributed immeasurably to analytical psychology. Generations of students have learned from her incredible knowledge and thanks to her, have experienced access to the image. A convinced sandplay therapist, Ruth introduced this specific type of
therapeutic work with children and adults at the Institute and taught it worldwide. The picture archive that was renovated a few years ago, is one of Ruth Ammann’s great achievements. She cared for the picture archive with her heart and her soul, developed it, and brought it to the public.
We will honor Ruth later with a memorial ceremony at the C.G. Jung Institute. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 15 at 2 pm in the Reformed Churc h in Bergdietikon. The entombment will take place in the presence of the family only.

Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen, liebe Studierende, liebe Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter,
Es ist meine traurige Pflicht, Ihnen mitzuteilen, dass unsere geschätzte Kollegin und liebe Freundin, Ruth Ammann am 3. August im Alter von 89 Jahren gestorben ist.
Ruth hat unendlich viel für die analytische Psychologie geleistet. Generationen von Studierenden haben von ihrem grossen Wissen gelernt – und dank ihr den Zugang zum Bild erfahren. Überzeugte Sandspieltherapeutin, wurde diese spezifische Art von therapeutischem Arbeiten mit Kindern und Erwachsenen von Ruth am Institut eingeführt und weltweit gelehrt. Das vor einigen Jahren renovierte Bildarchiv, ist eines der grossen Werke von Ruth Ammann. Sie hat das Bildarchiv mit Herz und Seele betreut, entwickelt und an die Öffentlichkeit gebracht.
Wir werden Ruth zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt mit einer Gedenkfeier am C.G. Jung-Institut ehren. Der Trauergottesdienst findet am Dienstag, 15. August um 14 Uhr in der Reformierten Kirche in Bergdietikon statt. Die Beisetzung erfolgt im Rahmen der Familie.
